Cooking Tips and Standing Chart

All microwave times in the following charts are prepared in a 650 watt output microwave oven. If your oven has a different output, follow the guide below. It is very important for you to know that if you have a higher wattage output oven, make sure you reduce the cooking times and check for doneness before serving. You can always cook for a few seconds more.

For a 500/550 watt output oven, increase the cooking time by about 20%
For a 700-watt output oven, decrease the cooking time by about 20%
For an 850-watt output oven, decrease the cooking time by about 30%

 Vegetables

It is very easy and effective to cook frozen or fresh vegetables in the Microwave Self Venting Cooking Pouch. In most cases there is no need to add water, therefore vitamins, minerals and other nutrients are retained instead of being drained away with the water at the end of the cooking process.

Always wash fresh vegetables before cooking

As salt toughens microwaved vegetables, season after cooking. (Tip: seasoning can be added directly into the microwave cooking pouch, then shake the pouch.) Thoroughly rinse the pouch and reuse if desired.

For softer, more tender vegetables, 2 - 4 Tbsp. of water may be added to the pouch before cooking.
